SESSIONS

Alix spends a lot of time in NYC and in her Dairen studio photographing editorial images and for ad agencies, and during the weekends and some of the week -she photographs children, newborns, families , and headshots in the NY and CT local areas.

MY STYLE

A fun, modern and fresh style is what I strive to get out of every photoshoot in addition to following the pretty light. During the session I play with the chidren- having them chase me, and jump around and be silly. I hope to achieve no stiff poses, and no forced smiles. As for the older kids that don’t laugh at pig noises, I try to get a sense of who they are and make them feel comfortable with the camera. At some point during the session I pull everyone together for a more formal shot if needed.

I try to tell a story about your babies, children and family within each session, as I love desiging books that capture all the fun moments. I also enjoy printing large fine art prints for your home- as they have a major wow factor.

YOUR STYLE

Clothing- stay away from big stripes, and large patterns for a family portrait. Matching tones are good, but try to stay away from too matchy- as photos look dated. I love expression and fun clothing for individual/sibling portraits.

Costumes, props, blankies, toys, balls are fun to bring! I love photographing children with their lovies at the end of our session.

HOW IT WORKS

Once the session is booked, within two weeks after the photo session- I will post the images on a private gallery for a sneak peek for one week, then I will have you come to the photo studio within 30 days of the session so we can look at the proofs and decide the next steps. I have beautiful books, fine art prints, cards, standouts, and canvas samples.

I do sell the digital negatives, but I really want people enjoy their prints and not just tuck the disc in a drawer.

Beach sessions are booked eary am -around 730am , or 1 hour before sunset. All outside sessions are booked in the mornings or afternoons for the nicest light.

Outside shoots cancelled only if it is raining, clouds are welcomed : )

If shoot is cancelled- session fee will not be refunded- it will go towards your session scheduled for another day. Please give as much notice as you can so I can fill the spot.

PRINTS / FINE ART / CANVAS / BOOKS / CARDS

Lustre (hi quality semi- matte), fine art canvas (wrapped on wood), fine art prints (watercolor paper), stand outs (mounted on white/metal board), reproductions (head shots), custom framing with uv protected glass, custom printed cards (holiday, birth announcements)- different sizes and shapes, hand made leather and photo bound books with fine art pages printed on very thick paper.

Digital Negatives are for sale after minumum portrait investment is placed.

Samples of each are in the photo studio. Please call to make an appointment.

Retouching and designing of cards and books is available. I have 18 years retouching experience working with Harpers Bazzar and Maire Claire- so all work is done in the studio.


FRIENDLY REMINDER

It is illegal and considered shoplifting if photographs are reprinted, published, scanned or reproduced in any manner or medium. Either from my website, client galleries or from prints. If you would like any photographs on facebook, twitter, or for any networking social media sites, I will gladly upload the image for you with my watermark on it.
